4132 1924c Paddington

Atbara class 4-4-0 No 4132 Pembroke departs from Paddington with an express in c1924.
Peter Kerslake says "The Atbaras were Introduced in April 1900 when 3373 "Atbara" emerged from Swindon to be followed by 39 more within the next 18 months. 4132 heads out of Paddington with the GWR Goods Offices in the background and a Clerestory brake composite with its guard's lookout coupled as lead vehicle immediately behind the tender.
Originally numbered 3386 and built in August 1900 "Pembroke" was in service until condemned from Tyseley in April 1931 with the last to survive, 4148 "Singapore", being withdrawn from Severn Tunnel Junction in May 1931."

Keith Morris adds "Note the American style 3 position signal by the third carriage - the only one on the GWR I think."
