E3129 1968-07-17 Atherstone
Doncaster built AL6 electric No.E3129 on 17th July 1968 at Atherstone with a down freight to Stoke on Trent. This was hardly the best use of a 3600hp electric locomotive when there were plenty of the earlier electric classes available for these lesser duties. It became No.86205 in June 1973, No.86503 in September 1988 but reverted to No.86205 in November 1989. David J Hayes adds The headcode would imply that this Class 7 freight has originated on the LMR, the most obvious location being London's Willesden Yard, although Northampton could be another contender.
