90265 1967-03-28 Hull Hessle Road Junction

Leonard Rogers provides the details 90265 is leaving the east end of Inwards Yard at Hull on the spur to Hessle Road Junction. In all likelihood it will be making for the ex-H&B high level line, bound for Saltend. Steam is into its last three months at Hull, now very much restricted to local trip workings such as this, while an increasing army of what became class 14, cast off from the Western Region, takes over. Ironically, the diesels themselves would be displaced within a year. On the right is the main line westward out of Hull, on an embankment at this point so as to fly over the goods lines at Dairycoates West Junction. In the left distance is one of the distinctive fish curing houses with its row of chimneys on top, once such a feature of this part of the city close to the fish dock.
