With withdrawn LMS Suburban coaches in the background, strangely they appear to all have their droplights either removed or down, no vandal damage in those days! The WD is actually approaching Derby Nottingham Road from the north. The factory on the right is the Aiton pipe works (now long gone) , behind which is the Derbyshire cricket ground (still there). Geoff Moore adds 'Served my time at Aitons, 1966 onwards. used to sit in those carriages spotting. Parts of the factory survive today, albeit not under the ownership of Aitons.'
