South Eastern Railway James Cudworth '205' class 0-4-2 Well Tank No. 210. Built by Avonside Engine Co. of Bristol in 1864 and withdrawn by 1888.

Restored from a contemporary print, this is a lovely image taken on the turntable at Tonbridge in Kent in the period 1874-7. The original negative had been treated (badly) to try and emphasise some of the highlights on the splashers and motion. I have tried as far as possible to reverse the process and the result is now a considerable improvement. Well at least I think it is!
