No 23 at Kaimes Colliery, (1870-1968) Muirkirk, (2 miles east of Ayr).
No 23 was the last locomotive to work here and was a Grant Ritchie product (GR 531/1911).
An explosion (November 1957) at this pit killed 17 men.
