35028 1964-05 Clapham Junction

This is loco duty No 4 and the carriage set is 768. There are two entries in the index that this could be, therefore it is either;
SR Rebuilt MN 4-6-2 No 35028 Clan Line down 'Royal Wessex' passing Clapham Junction on 23 May 1964,

or SR Rebuilt MN 4-6-2 No 35028 Clan Line 16.35 Waterloo-Bournemouth passing Clapham Junction on 15 May 1964.

Robert Waterman adds "The 16:35 Waterloo - Bournemouth - Weymouth was 'The Royal Wessex' although by 1964 no titled train roofboards were carried and the loco headboard rare to non existant. The Weymouth portion was a 6 car Bulleid/BR mk 1 set comprising 2 x Bulleid brake semi-opens, 1 x SK and 3 x CKs'. The Bournemouth West portion comprised a 6 car restaurant set of mixed Bulleid and BR mk1 vehicles typical of the period although broadly of the same formation. These usually carried 'Waterloo Southampton Bournemouth' roofboards.

I can't remember if set 768 was augmented from a standard '3 set L' to form the 6 car Weymouth set or not."
