SR Rebuilt MN 4-6-2 No 35023 Holland-Afrika Line on 21 June 1959. This is exiting the up tranfer siding at Axminster headind towards Salisbury, the building in the background belonging to the Axminster Carpet Company. The two tracks coming in from the right, comprise the Lyme Regis branch and the bay platform run-round loop. There is a nice LSWR 'Road Van' in the yard.

The loco was an early rebuild with the small cycling lion emblem on the tender (pre Sept 1962) - no AWS or speedometer is fitted here (pre Sept 1960) - but it is 1958 or later per the small yellow circular disc painted on the cabside below the loco number (indicating SR TIA type water treatment fitted - the later yellow triangle indicated BR briquet type water treatment).
