35023 1967-03 Weymouth

SR Rebuilt Merchant Navy No 35023 formerly Holland Afrika Line pilots a light Pacific away from Weymouth.

Alan Goodwin says "We are pretty sure that the train engine is 34008. This is because by 1967, “Padstow” was the only rebuilt light pacific still carrying a nameplate backing plate with three holes in it. You can see this clearly in the other photo of the loco leaving Weymouth with the long Channel Islands Boat Train on March 27th (Three disc head code). We are unable to determine the exact date of either photo, but 34008 looks to be in very similar condition in both so I suspect they are only days apart."

He thinks this double headed train is either the 17.30 or the 18.15 Weymouth to Waterloo.
