SR Rebuilt MN 4-6-2 No 35024 East Asiatic Company 9.22am Bournemouth West train near Sway on 7 June 1961.


Note this is coupled to the self-weighing tender aquired from 35015 when that was rebuilt in 1958. It kept this tender until 1962 when the tender body was scrapped and the frames received one of the ten 5250 gal bodies built at Ashford as replacements for life expired WC/BB and MN tender bodies although this particular one had to be extended by approx. 2 feet to fit the longer series 3 6000gal MN tender frames. It subsequently ran behind 35008 and then then transferred to 35018 on that loco's withdrawal and with which 35018 runs today. 35024 received the 6000gal one from 35018 and 35008's went to 35018 which was also fitted with a new Ashford built 5250 gal body at that time and which went back to 35008 on 35018's withdrawal!
