35030 1965-03-07 near Weybridge
SR Rebuilt MN 4-6-2 No 35030 Elder Dempster Lines Bournemouth-Waterloo express incorrectly recorded as near Hook on 7 March 1965.
Robert Waterman adds "Not at Hook which was not electrified in 1965. At Hook the local roads had started to sprout the third rail from 1965 but the through roads didn't until they had been relaid with CWR. The third rail is the lighter section jointed SR type. The Bournemouth electrification used heavier section welded third rail. Looks like just west of Weybridge to me. From the train formation I would hazard a guess at this being the 17:30 Bournemouth. "
Mike Cole says "that is down from Weybridge. I lived in Byfleet in the 60's, and crossed that occupation bridge to the west of the Chertsey Branch Junction many times. There is a partner bridge crossing the branch lines".
