I supose they thought they had found a clean one to display, but there are a few stains. It had only been accepted to stock on the 24th May despite arriving in the country 2 months earlier.
It was the York Station Centenary exhibition on 10-13 June 1973. It was entitled York 100 “The Railway of Yesterday, Today and Tomorrow” Exhibition.
On display was 55012 Crepello , 4468 Mallard, Stirling Single No.1, NER 4-4-0 1621 & others unknown....
