8067 8160 1973-09-07 Nottingham Midland

An everyday scene in the East Midlands for many years as a pair of English Electric Type 1s pass through Midland station with coal empties on 7th September 1973. The leading locomotive, No.8067, was originally allocated to Sheffield Tinsley and the trailing diesel, No.8160, went straight to the Nottingham Division from new in 1966. The latter is one of the second batch built following the disastrous failure of the Clayton design and has route indicator panels instead of the headcode discs on No.8067.
