1458 1960c Oswestry
Little 1458 makes a fine picture here at a busy Oswestry in the early 1960s. Although sadly not one of the four of her class to make it into preservatin 1458 had the distinction of being , in company with sister engine 1472 , the last to work the Gloucester to Chalford service which ended on Saturday , 31st . October , 1964 thereby bringing to an end the long association with the Gloucester Horton Road " 1400 ' s with that delightful line through the " Golden Valley " , and also ending use of the class on the Sharpness service from Gloucester which also terminated that same day
1458 is carrying a 89D Oswestry shedplate, dating the image after 1960/09/10 but received a top feed sometime in 1961 (only to loose it again by 1963).
Ford Anglia 105E in car park introduced in September 1959.
