1474 1950s Marlow
With the Maidenhead via Bourne End auto train.
The last of the initial batch of her class , and allocated at this period to 81C ., which was Southall , 1474 was one of six of the little "1400's " there and is seen here at Marlow on the branch from Bourne End that station being situated on the main line between Maidenhead and High Wycombe.
This branch was the preserve of the " 1400's " shedded at Southall and the Italian style station buildings , complete with their fine ornamental chimneys shown here have sadly long since gone , as has 1474 which did not make it into preservation , later seeing out her last period in service at Gloucester's Horton Road , remaining there in company with 1458 , 1444 , 1445 , 1472 and 1453 until they were all finally condemned from there in late 1964
