Peter Kerslake writes "Looking at my records a little more thoroughly I now see that this is, in fact, 1472, minus its front numberplate. It was in its last weeks of working from that Depot as it does not appear to have lasted in service as long as those at Gloucester, those remaining "1400's " serving both the Chalford and Sharpness branches until they both were ended on Saturday 31st October 1964.
1472 had been allocated to Carmarthen in past years but was to see out its last months at Gloucester."
