61660 1951-07-10 Lincoln

LNER class B17 4-6-0 No 61660 Hull City leaves Lincoln with the 'North Country Continental' from Harwich to Liverpool on July 10, 1951.
Peter Kerslake says "Built in June 1936 Sandringham 61660 displays its football on its nameplate in this view; it was in service until June 1960.
Handsome looking engines, the B17s were the mainstay of Top Link passenger workings on the services between Liverpool Street, North Norfolk and the Essex coast with its Parkestone Boat Trains until the "Britannias" came on to the scene in 1951 and revolutionised the services.
A very early casualty had been 61628 "Harewood House" which was condemned in September 1952 whilst 61668 "Bradford City" was the last to survive until August 1960."
