B17/5 No 2859 ‘East Anglian’ poses at Doncaster works in the late 1930s. Released to traffic as a standard B17 in June 1936, this engine was given a general overhaul at Doncaster from 10th July to 20th September 1937 in which it was fitted with the streamlined casing seen here. The casing was removed at Gorton Works in early 1951. Final withdrawal as No 61659 (from Lowestoft) came in March 1960.
