Ex-LNER Gresley 'B17/6' class 4-6-0 No. 61669 'Barnsley'. Built by Robert Stephenson & Hawthorn of Newcastle in May 1937 as LNER No. 2869 and withdrawn in September 1958.

LNER designed Thompson 'B1' class 4-6-0 No. 61297. Built by NBL of Glasgow in Mar. 1948 as BR No. E1297 and withdrawn in Nov. 1962. One of the delights of visiting 'Carr Loco' at Doncaster was the appearance of ex-works locomotives. It was doubly exciting if that locomotive was not a regular on GN metals and the icing on the cake would be a 'Footballer', in this case 'Barnsley', captured in superb condition in January 1954.
