Still allocated to 31B March at the time. David was on his way to School and saw Hotspur held at signals so managed to capture this shot. It had been to Darlington Works for an overhaul (records do not exist as to the type) and was heading back on its test run. The RO reported that 70011 and 70040 received attention at the works at the time which was unusual, soon they would all be transferred to the LMR many receiving overhauls at Crewe Works before serving until the end of steam.
