Vale of Rheidol Railway/GWR 2-6-2 Tank No. 7 'Owain Glyndŵr' (named in 1956). Built at Swindon in 1923 and still in service.
This is the scene at Aberystwyth in July 1956 with 1 ft 11 3⁄4 in. gauge No. 7 looking very smart indeed. Originally a freight line for transporting timber props for the mining industry, passenger tourist traffic became its mainstay.
