Bill Elkins says "Pannier tank 8435, I must have fired this loco on a few occasions when I was at OOC. Headlamps showing Top and Right, indicating ECS - Paddington/OOC carriage sidings, with target No.2 on lamp bracket of rear buffer beam.
Note the coaching stock with very new metal destination boards. These were attached to hooks below the windows and looked quite modern as opposed to the wooden roof boards.

The Up and Down Engine and Carriage line between OOC and Paddington was unique for the area in the respect of it coming under Permissive Block signalling regulations. During periods of heavy traffic, it was quite common to witness complete sets of ECS following each other.
