Recently arrived from Cardiff (and still carrying an 86C shedplate) No 8402 has taken up duties banking trains from Bromsgrove to Blackwell up the Lickey incline. It is in the yard at Bromsgrove station. The date is Spring 1958 and follows the transfer of motive power responsibility to the Western Region from the London Midland earlier that year. The LMR Jinties remained at Bromsgrove however, and worked in tandem with the newly arrived GWR locomotives into the early 1960s.
