Great Western Railway designed Hawksworth '94xx' class 0-6-0 Pannier Tank No. 9495. Built by Yorkshire Engine Co. of Sheffield in October 1954 and withdrawn in June 1965.

The chunky design of Hawksworth's '94xx' class are seen to good effect in this fine portrait of 9495 at Old OaK Common MPD in May 1964. Nearly all the 210-strong class were built by outside contractors, only 10 being built at Swindon, the last steam locomotives built there ending an epoch in railway history.
