9493 1961c Bromsgrove

GWR 94XX 0-6-0PT No 9493 and a classmate bank a train up the Lickey Incline out of Bromsgrove station in c1961.

Peter Kerslake adds "9493 was a later member of the thirteen or so Western Regional Pannier Tanks recruited to Bromsgrove M.P.D. in order to provide banking assistance over the fearsome Lickey Incline during late 1956 and early 1957 following the withdrawal of "Big Bertha" in 1956 and the spell using 92079 in her place, most of the early recruited Panniers coming from Welsh depots and Newton Abbot.
GWR 5226 was also used during May of 1958 and late 1959 as was 7235 just for three days in April of 1958, the latter proving too large for the job after hitting the platform at Bromsgrove station, the Depot there closing in September of 1964".
