One of a handful of the class allocated to Exmouth Junction from the autumn of 1963, they only normally to worked east from Exeter but Robert Waterman has seen photographic evidence that they did work west to Plymouth as did the rebuilt West Country pacifics although he is not aware that they went to North Cornwall or Ilfracombe.
