Craig McIntosh adds the details "Auldgirth is on the GSW route from Kilmarnock to Dumfries and is situated between Thornhill and Dumfries. 73100 is displaying Extra No. IM21, which according to my notes is a Glasgow-Blackpool train. The date given is the start of the Glasgow Fair holidays so the train will be packed".
