One of the ten Caprotti valve gear BR Standard Class 5 4-6-0s which went new to the Midland Division in late 1956, No.73144 was allocated to Leicester Midland until April 1958. It has the high sided BR Type 1C tender which carried 9 tons of coal and 4725 gallons of water.
