BR Standard ‘5MT’No.73054 on 8th September 1957 at Bournville. Its train is mostly ex-LNER stock with an odd BR Mark 1 and GWR coach mixed in. No.73054 went to Bristol Barrow Road in May 1957 and it remained there until transferred to its final shed at Bath Green Park. Peter Kerslake says I photographed this engine , 73054 on her way to the South Wales breakers ' yards as she was towed , in company with her sisters from Bath Green Park 73015 and 73051 on 13th October 1965. My picture , from Over Bridge , just outside Gloucester on the South Wales line has the trio being towed by 7816 Frilsham Manor and is is clear that 73054 was in much better external condition than were the other two, and my note made at the time makes reference to that. Recent correspondence in Steam Railway magazine , following publication of my picture , refers to the fact that a band of enthusiasts and unofficial cleaners who used to visit Green Park in the late years of Somerset and Dorset steam , and known as the Master Neverers regularly kept 73054 in fine condition , and this could well account for the condition that this engine was in , even after it had been condemned.
