The BR standard has 'The Cunarder' chalked on the smokebox door - 'The Cunarder' was a passenger boat train from Waterloo to Southampton, still running in 1967 so I suspect was someones idea of a joke for this fast freight. Branch line to Bridport in right foreground. The wooden train shed is still present but the water tower & gravity shunt siding have disappeared dating it around 1966/67. The site of the gravity siding is seen on the right. An incoming train would back into the siding after passengers had disembarked. The engine uncoupled and ran into another siding, then the coach brakes were released allowing the vehicles to gravitate to the platform
