25648 1937-05-30 Crewe

Ex-LNWR ’Prince of Wales’ Class No 25648 “Queen of the Belgians’ at Crewe in May 1937. Released to traffic in Decemeber 1915 as No 2396 it proved to be the joint longest lived member of its Class (along with No 25673 ‘Lusitania’), being one of the only 4 out of 235 built to enter BR service. It was withdrawn in October 1948 without receiving its allocated BR No 58000.
