The long wall seen at Crewe Station behind ex-L&NWR Bowen Cooke 'Prince of Wales' 25708 was often the site of large enamel advertising signs and billboards though none are evident on Saturday 11th August 1934! Built in March 1919, 25708 was one of many of its class that suffered the unfortunate fate of never receiving a name, a seemingly random practice in the latter days of the L&NWR.
