The 70 Fowler '3P' 2-6-2 Tanks were built 1930-2 for the LMS. They were a predecessor to the later taper-boilered Stanier version. Nineteen were fitted with condensing apparatus for work in the London area and some were push-pull fitted. 40011 in ex-works condition, is pictured at Derby MPD in July 1954 prior to its return to Carnforth (11A) MPD.
