51206 1950s Bank Hall shed

51206 1950s Bank Hall shed

For the rivet counters, there are 150 rivet heads displayed on the front panel of the saddletank, with a few others hidden. (That saves you counting them). This photograph shows very clearly the method of attachment of the swivelling spark arrester which was fitted for working beneath the Liverpool overhead railway. Built in 1891, No 51206 had a long and illustrious career which ended 71 years later in September 1962. Throughout the BR period it was a resident of Bank Hall shed.
