HR 57 1900s Lochgorm Works
Highland Railway Stroudley 'Lochgorm Tank' class 0-6-0 Saddletank No. 57 'Lochgorm'. Built at Lochgorm in February 1869 and withdrawn in December 1932 as LMS No. 16119.
Before his fame as CME of the LB&SCR Willam Stroudley's career as Locomotive Superintendent had been with the Highland Railway. Early echoes of his famous LB&SCR 'Terrier' 0-6-0s can be seen in his 1863 design of the Lochgorm Works shunter. The stacking of coal atop the tank was a work of art in itself! Restored from an original period 8"x10" print.
