No. 60066 ‘Merry Hampton’ at York Station in around 1962; it had been fitted with smoke deflectors in October 1961. Built by NBL of Glasgow in July 1924 as LNER No. 2565, this ex-LNER Gresley ‘A3’ class 4-6-2 was rebuilt in December 1945 from class ‘A1’ (as built to class ‘A3’). Withdrawn in September 1963.
