LYR Barton Wright 0-4-4T acting as carriage heating boiler at Blackpool North on 6 September 1948. The BR Central Section had a small un-numbered fleet of these ex capital locomotives, they were serviced at Horwich works and moved about frequently so it was very difficult to telll their origins despite some of the remaining motion being stamped with running numbers. This one retains its original smokebox door and Ramsbottom safety valves. There were articles about them in the early LYR Society 'Platform' magazines.
