BR ‘Class 55’ Co-Co diesel No. D9003 later ‘Meld’ passing through the Holgate platforms, York on Saturday 17th June 1961 running without nameplates which were fitted in July. Built by English Electric Vulcan Foundry in March 1961. Received the name ‘Meld’ on 7th July 1961. Withdrawn in December 1980 as TOPS No. 55003.
