Despite the fact the trackwork would soon be 'rationalised' NER J27 0-6-0 No 65855 passes under the newly re-painted signal gantry at Ryhope Grange Junction with coal for Sunderland South Dock on 7 July 1967. In the distance 65894 waits impatiently for signals and the road with corresponding empties on the former Londonderry Railway lines.
