70046 1960s Patricroft
Peter Kerslake says "70046 looks rather work weary in this view but still has its Anzac nameplates and retains its BR1D tender with its increased water capacity, the engine having been allocated from new in June 1954 to Holyhead primarily for use on the Irish Mail Boat trains to and from Euston. In September 1965 Anzac and seven other Britannias were sent to Banbury where they remained for just four months working between Nottingham and Marylebone in addition to secondary local services. 70046 was finally withdrawn from Carlisle Kingmoor in July 1957."
