BR Riddles 'Standard Britannia' 4-6-2 No. 70025 'Western Star'. Built at Crewe in September 1952 and withdrawn in December 1967.

Smartly turned out 'Western Star' is handling a very mixed freight near Badminton in Gloucestershire. The exact locality has not been determined, but a very nice view nonetheless with no unchecked lineside vegetation or palisade steel fences for the photographer to contend with!

Peter Kerslake adds "The Cardiff Canton Britannia has recently been outshopped from Swindon Works at the end of June 1960 and it could now well be heading back home".
