Britannia 4-6-2 No 70024 Vulcan at Cardiff Canton shed on 14 May 1961.

Peter Kerslake says "70024 "Vulcan"looks in better condition that it did in its earlier years when new at Laira and before transfer to Canton in December 1956, but Canton had a reputation for the way in which it turned out its main line engines. However, by the end of September 1961 Canton had lost all fourteen of its "Britannias" to the LMR with "Vulcan"going to Aston depot ".
