70050 1960s Crewe North

Peter Kerslake says "With plenty of EE Type 4's around it was lucky to have had a full overhaul and repaint, Polmadie's 70050 Firth of Clyde. The engine retains the original style of smoke deflector hand rails, with the battery box for the Automatic Warning System mounted on the footplate framing. 70050 was withdrawn from Carlisle Kingmoor in August 1966".
