Heading away from Lancashire at Saddleworth Station on the Yorkshire border is BR Riddles 'Standard Britannia' 70033 'Charles Dickens'. It will shortly enter the formidable 5,675 yards of Standedge Tunnel, emerging at Marsden in the River Colne valley near Huddersfield. This photo was taken on Sunday 2nd September 1956.
