Peter Kerslake says " Its past days of glory working the 'Golden Arrow' Pullman now over 70014 'Iron Duke' looks run down here and is losing steam from all the wrong places although its fireman dosen't seem too worried.
Still bearing its Southern Region lamp brackets on the deflector plates together with the original design of deflector handrails 70014 was housed at Norwich for just a week or so from new in June in 1951 before heading to Nine Elms and Stewarts Lane, its time on the Southern Region ending in June of 1958 when it went to the Midland Region, doing the rounds of no fewer than ten depots before meeting its end in December of 1967."
