Tony Roberts says I note that the decision had been made to reduce the use of asbestos tape to wrap some of the steam pipes by this date. Delivery pipes from the firebox top manifold to the Exhaust Ejector Valve block are still wrapped, but the Injector Feed pipe to the Top Clack is not (this pipe being the more likely one to be touched by anyone on the footplate). Wrapping pipes was one of my jobs as a young man - NO, we didn't know what danger we were being put in!
