Why the SR route disks? Don’t know the reason for SR discs, but believe the photo was taken during the six weeks the loco was in store at Crewe North, before being withdrawn on 24 November 1962. It was then moved into Crewe Works in December 1964 and remained a long term resident until condemned in 1967. Note the missing screw coupling & vacuum pipe, and was still displaying one SR disc in 1965.
