Withdrawn for the first time just over a year before and stored at Exmouth Junction and St Davids for over a year, here it has just arrived from there awaiting entry into the works who cut it up in March 1964. Three Exmouth Junction 700s, 30689, 30697 and 30700 were withdrawn in Nov/Dec 1962 but re-instated for snow ploughing, though this does not seem to be recorded in Bradley or the RO. 30697 was withdrawn because it was one of the 700s snowed in while ploughing for 4 days at Sourton summit in Jan’63. Its cylinders were irreparably shattered by ice when rescued. 30689 and 700 carried on until late Feb, then all 3 stood OOU at Exmouth Junction awaiting their fate.
