The 10.17 Leeds to Glasgow 1S52 due in at 13.03

Colin Ryder says "The sign on the post, C9, should offer hope for identification of the spot. There was a signal box at the small village station of Cononley about 2.5 miles south of Skipton. About a mile north of this was an occupation road-over bridge which could be the one behind the train. The countryside is reminiscent of the area with some small farm buildings on the rising ground to the west of the track. If this is the location, the photographer would be standing on a slightly rising embankment above the fields regularly waterlogged as indicated by the type of vegetation on the right of the photo. But signal post C9 holds the key: any historical maps or signal diagrams available, anyone?"

OS maps show the underbridge and cabin with Swires Lane bridge beyond.
The building to left of bridge is Low Laithe. The raised rebuilt bridge and the under bridge parapet are visible in this image
