‘61xx’ 2-6-2T 6122 approaching Mitre Bridge on 21st August 1962. The flyover and skew girder bridge built in 1911-12 to remove the conflicting lines into Paddington is in the distance. It carried a double track from Old Oak to Ladbroke Bridge box, enabling empty carriage and light engine traffic to be kept separate from the main running lines; it was singled in 1967.
